BPIF – EcoPrint London

In partnership with the British Print Industries Foundation (BPIF), Carbon Smart delivers practical environmental certification across the print sector in London.  We have worked with the BPIF management team to design a programme specifically for printers, aiming to overturn their reputation as a wasteful, polluting and energy intensive sector.  Over this two-year programme, Carbon Smart will help 150 printers from London’s 33 Boroughs to re-evaluate their operations and gain a competitive advantage in their crowded print industry.  So far the programme has been a great success, with over 75 printers certified after the first year. LCRN

We have been working with London Community Resource Network (LCRN) over the past two years to deliver the Carbon Smart Certification to some of London’s most socially responsible public organisations.  From care in the community schemes, legal aid and outdoor education programmes, a variety of organisations have been able to take part in the Carbon Smart Programme thanks to LCRN’s hard work.

Each and every not-for-profit organisation that has taken part in the LCRN scheme have found gaining Carbon Smart Certification to be educational, beneficial to their organisation in terms of funding availability and moreover a complimentary qualification to their everyday operations. OFDA – So-Go-Eco

In collaboration with the Office Friendly Dealers Association (OFDA), the So-Go-Eco scheme is entering its third successful year.  Having picked up Business Awards for Environmental Innovation two years running, the So-Go-Eco programme has help office supplies dealerships across the UK flourish since 2007.

Steve Harrop, the Managing Director of OFDA rates the benefit So-Go-Eco gives to the OFDA dealers very highly:  “For us Carbon Smart is all about credibility, profitability and sustainability”.

Entering its third year now, many OFDA dealers are going for Gold in 2011.  Business benefits have been many and varied, from a reported £7,500 saving on waste management processes in one dealer’s business, to winning public tenders through being able to provide robust environmental credentials.

The So-Go-Eco programme continues to gain momentum into 2011 with selected companies who have achieved a minimum of the silver certification now helping to make the Programme available to their customers too.
